Onboarding Emails

American Airlines AAdvantage eShopping is an online shopping site that allows members to earn miles on every dollar of their purchases at over 900 retailers. I designed an onboarding series of eight emails that are triggered based on the member’s areas of enrollment upon signing up for the program.

The objective of these emails is to encourage the member to get the most out of their shopping by signing up for emails, downloading the button browser extension, favoriting stores, and shopping multiple times until they reach “top-shopper” status. I created checkpoints in a progress bar that clearly outlines what the member needs to complete next. These markers and celebratory visuals validate the member to continue their onboarding journey toward becoming a top-shopper. Three of the emails in the series are animated to better illustrate visual demos of the program features or to give feel-good recognition to the recipient.
